Municipal and District Offenses

Cities and Municipalities in Washington have prosecutors to handle infractions and misdemeanor offenses ranging from fines up to a year in jail. Infractions may incur fines and driving restrictions while misdemeanors range from simple misdemeanors with maximum jail time of 90 days to gross misdemeanors with fines and possible jail time up to 364 days in jail. Repetitive misdemeanor offenses such as DUI’s can become more serious and increase to felonies under the law. Also DUI and violent domestic offenses may not be able to be vacated from your record.
